Our clear self-watering pots are made for observing root growth on new repots. Once they settle in, we recommend switching over to our colored matching 3-in outer pots to avoid algae infestation through the clear surface. Although little bit of algae is harmless, a heavy buildup can clog up airflow to the root system which can cause decline in plant health and root rot.
