Winnie's Grown-Up Aroid Mix has a combination of coco coir and tree fern will help retain moisture, while the perlite, pumice, lava rock, and zeolite will ensure that the mix doesn’t become too compact and provides ample aeration for the roots. The clay component further stabilizes moisture, ensuring a balance between retention and drainage. This blend is ideal for creating a healthy, thriving root system that prevents waterlogging while maintaining consistent moisture levels for aroids.

Why did we create this? 

After growing aroids for 5 years, one thing we’ve learned is that there isn’t one single mix that works well for a plant in all life stages. As plants grow, you want to repot them into something more suitable for their size and needs. Our Premium Aroid Mix works extremely well for seedling/baby plants because it provides optimal moisture retention, excellent aeration, and a light, supportive structure for healthy root development. But as your aroids mature, they need a more structured environment that provides enhanced drainage, aeration, and stability for their growing root systems. This is where Grown-Up Aroid Mix comes in. The addition of pumice, lava rock, clay, and zeolite in our grown-up aroid mix ensures better moisture control, nutrient retention, and long-term root health.

What plants should I use Winnie's Grown-Up Aroid Mix for?  

All mature aroids in 4-inch pots & up - including but not limited to alocasias, philodendrons, monsteras, scindapsus.

pH precision: Ensure your aroids thrive in an optimal environment by adjusting your water to a pH range of 5.5-6. Our Aroid Mix lays the foundation, but your attention to pH details will make all the difference.

Fine-tune: This mix should work well for all aroids if you're aiming for a well-draining yet moisture-retentive medium, especially with our tall self watering pots. If you don't do self watering, just be mindful of your watering habits and consider fine-tuning the mix slightly if you find the soil drying out too quickly or staying too wet.
